We at NetRead have long appreciated the need for a reliable, unbiased, Web-based
source of information and advice about publishing. With our How-To articles and
Sites and Books section, we attempt to fill that role.
We firmly believe in an absolute division between editorial and advertising.
This belief, we think, coincides with our practical interest in winning and
retaining the trust of our readers.
NetRead's editorial policy is simple:
- If it doesn't look like promotion, it isn't.
- If it looks like we wrote it, we did.
This means that unless otherwise indicated, no content has been written, paid for,
or otherwise influenced by any commercial entity. Information is based solely on our
research, our experience, and your feedback. We are determined to be accurate,
thorough, and above all, impartial.
This is not to say we don't have opinions and preferences. We do. We'll even cop to
having ideals. Our promise to you is that our opinions and preferences are just that:
ours. We offer them, when we offer them, for one reason and one reason only: we
believe them to be helpful.
That said, we do license some content. We do this because we found someone who has
access to better data and/or can better explain the material--and only for that
reason. Licensed content is prominently attributed at the top of the relevant page.
