Many of you have received Ingram’s metadata instructions for California’s Prop 65 requirement. NetRead and Ingram are working together on this process, and we will soon provide support for Ingram’s needs. We currently offer some support through ONIX 2.1, but complete support will be through ONIX 3.0. When finished, we will provide you with new template headers and proper data entry.
Instructions for delivery of California Proposition 65 data to Ingram
1. NetRead will upgrade all of its publishers to ONIX 3.0. This is Ingram’s preferred format for submission of this information.
2. There are three methods available for delivery of California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) warning data to NetRead:
A. NetRead’s standard or abbreviated Excel Bibliographic Template, which will include Prop 65 options.
Please note: For all products purchased and sold by Ingram Content Group the vendor of record must provide a positive or negative indication of Prop 65 in the vendor-supplied product metadata.
B. Custom options depending upon your source file format (ONIX or custom)
C. JacketCaster Interface (forthcoming)
ONIX 3.0 and our proprietary template will provide the following options:
a. “yes this product requires a Prop 65 warning”; or
b. “no, there are no chemicals in this product that require a Prop 65 warning.”
